There's a season

There's a season

Reason For The Season

Have you ever heard the phrase "There's a season for everything"?

    This statement could not be more true. In fact, it's origin lets us know just how true it is, and that we definitely need this in our lives.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-13 (KJV)
1) To every thing there is a season,
and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
2) A time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
3) A time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
4) A time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
5) A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together;
a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
6) A time to get, and a time to lose;
a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
7) A time to rend, and a time to sew;
a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8) A time to love, and a time to hate;
a time of war, and a time of peace.

9) What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?

Lesson

     From the 4 seasons we go through here on earth, (Or 2 seasons here in Alabama, summer and almost summer), or the seasons each state has for hunting, it is clear there has always been seasons. These scriptures also tell us there is a purpose for all seasons.

      No matter what season lays before us or behind us, remember God is ever present to help and comfort us.

Behind the print

    Our Psalms 91:4 turkey fan print is a perfect reminder that God's protection is there and surrounding us. Psalms 91:4 tells us:

"He shall cover thee with his feathers,

and under his wings shalt thou trust:his truth shall be thy shield

and buckler."

      Wow, the comfort in that verse. But why release a turkey shirt after turkey season is over? Wouldn't sells be better if you revealed before the season? Remember what we learned from Ecclesiastes? This print is more about the scripture than the turkey fan. While turkey season is over, one season that never goes out is the season for Christ.

      2 Timothy 2:4 instructs us to "be instant, in season, and out of season...". Here's those season again. And yet again, there is no relevance to wether the season is in or out.  That's the thing about Christ, we are blessed that his grace, his protection, and his love do not have a season. Christ is here for us, always.

      How is your walk?

   Imagine walking in the morning woods and listening for that gobbler to hammer back at you, notifying you that he has heard your call, God is listening for our yelp. Often times we need to take a walk, a walk with Christ, in his woods. He is listening for you, before he responds. Walk with God, talk with God, daily, and be ever vigilant to his word and his guidance. A good friend of mine and huge supporter of The Small Town Life, often talks about "God winks". His response may not always be the most obvious, but if you are always listening, after your yelp, you may just hear that gobbler, "God wink", in the distance.  Much like the turkey woods, when you hear him, go to him. Go to God.
